Betty Throw with Faux Fur

Sometimes inspiration for a design is subtle and sometimes it hits me over the head! A couple of months ago I saw throws with geometric designs made with tufted faux fur. I knew I wanted to create a crocheted version.

First step was finding the perfect yarn. I was so grateful when Lion Brand Yarn agreed to send me some Thick & Quick Bonus Bundles in Pure White and Go For Faux Thick & Quick in Baked Alaska. Full disclosure… I opened the box from Lion Brand and panicked because I was going for a monochromatic look and I was afraid that they were too different. But now that I have it done… I love it!

ADDING THE TUFTING

Lay out your throw with the back side facing up. There should be 38 raised rows – you will be working in these raised rows. Use stitch markers to map out the diamond design on the raised row stitches. Follow downloadable pattern guide below.

Using Go For Faux Thick & Quick and smaller hook,  surface sc in each stitch marked. It’s helpful to pull through a little extra as you move from one marked stitch to the next to give some slack. If you find the rows are being too contorted, give more slack between stitches. At the end of each fur row, cut and finish off and start again for next row.
